Trekking with a dog to the Val Vertrova waterfalls, Bergamo, Lombardy. Easy path.
Bauciao friends also today we share a new trekking itinerary to do with a dog that we tested by going to the Val Vertrova waterfalls, a wonderful place where we can safely take a bath. The route is really very easy to do, and all you need is a pair of shoes suitable for humans and surely you can't miss a bottle (better if two) to change the water often to keep it cool: there are many sources and waterfalls on the path.
The route (CAI 527) is for the most part shaded, therefore sheltered from the strong rays of the sun in summer.
To tackle this trip you do not need any kind of training it is of very easy difficulty with a very light and constant slope.
The path is mixed: dirt, gravel, cobblestones and stones and you will have to sheath some water passages of streams but there are small elevations as you can see in the video.
I recommend friends put collars or drops against ticks, fleas etc .. but always let yourself be checked at the end of the path that you never know, ticks are dangerous for both dogs and humans.
How to reach us
If you move by car you can arrive directly at the beginning of the path in Vertova: there are 2 car parks, one free directly at the beginning of the path but it is very small and unless you arrive at dawn you will find it already occupied, the other is thirty meters before at the Baira Roset and the cost is 5 € / day.
If you use the By public transport instead you can also get there by train but it is strongly discouraged if you don't live nearby.
The highway from Milan cost € 3.50 then the petrol must be calculated according to your car, by train from Milan it is really not recommended: it is a 2,15 h slam with 3 vehicle changes.
The Route: Val Vertrova waterfalls
- Respect: for nature and for every living being you will meet: human or not;
- Caution: Always consider the dog's physical preparation and yours;
- Education: You always greet those you meet on the trek, do not be unpleasant;
- Weather: weather conditions on the way change often, keep an eye on the forecasts.
Backpack Tips: Lightweight.
For this itinerary we suggest you always bring a couple of water bottles (one with its beak for us) even if the path is almost all in the shade, you will find many sources of water.
Always carry with you k-way e cape in case the weather is bad or if it is uncertain.
Trekking shoes and as always a small first aid kit for us dogs and for you humans that you never know.
We highly recommend the Roset hut at the beginning / end of the path… and then there is also a beautiful parrot to make friends with.
